Welcome

Tri-City Cyclists comprises bicycling enthusiasts from Bay City, Saginaw, Midland, and the surrounding areas. Our purpose is to promote, represent, and advocate for safe and enjoyable recreational cycling. We hold rides that provide an opportunity for cyclists of all ages and abilities to experience the wide variety of cycling experiences this region has to offer.

History

Tri-City Cyclists was founded in October of 1985 with the election of its first board of directors: President, Jess Keys; Vice President, Jack Rich; Secretary - Kathy Warszawski; and Treasurer, Al Baily. The next month the board decided to add a Director-at-Large as a tie breaker in voting situations. History was made after that. See the History page for more.

Purpose

  • To promote the use of bicycles
  • To promote bicycle use in a safe manner
  • To promote public awareness of bicyclists’ responsibilities and rights on public roads
  • To protect and defend the rights of bicyclists
  • To promote a statewide bicycle route system
  • To provide instruction as to the care and proper use of bicycles
  • To provide an opportunity for members to socialize with others who have an interest in bicycles
  • To help in the creation and maintenance of regional riding venues
